Jonathan Moore (State Department official)
Jonathan Moore (born circa 1932, died June 2, 2024) was a veteran U.S. diplomat and State Department official who dedicated his career to human rights, democratization, and international organizations.
Moore held various positions throughout his career, most notably focusing on international organizations and human rights issues. He served as the U.S. Representative to the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and as a U.S. Ambassador to ECOSOC. He also held positions related to human rights and humanitarian affairs within the State Department.
Moore was known for his strong advocacy for human rights and his commitment to multilateral diplomacy. He worked on issues related to refugees, humanitarian assistance, and the promotion of democracy around the world. He often spoke publicly on these issues and engaged with civil society organizations.
