Jonathan Carter (American football)

Jonathan Carter (born October 19, 1987) is a former American football running back. He played college football at Troy University.

Carter played for Troy from 2006 to 2010. During his time there, he was a significant contributor to the Trojans' offense, showcasing his skills in both rushing and receiving. He was known for his agility and versatility as a player. He earned All-Sun Belt Conference honors during his collegiate career.

After college, Carter entered the National Football League (NFL). Although he was not drafted, he signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent in 2011. He was released by the Buccaneers before the start of the regular season.

Following his time with the Buccaneers, Carter had a brief stint with the New Orleans Saints in 2012, but again did not make the final roster. After his NFL attempts, Carter continued his football career in other professional leagues, including the Canadian Football League (CFL) where he played for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in 2013. He was released by the Blue Bombers in August 2013.
