Johnson County Courthouse (Texas)

The Johnson County Courthouse is a historic courthouse located in Cleburne, Texas, the county seat of Johnson County. Constructed in 1898, it is a prominent example of Romanesque Revival architecture. The courthouse was designed by J. Riely Gordon, a notable architect known for designing numerous county courthouses across Texas.

The courthouse is constructed of pink granite, quarried in Burnet County, Texas. Its design features a central clock tower, arched windows, and intricate stone carvings. The building originally housed all county government offices, including courtrooms, administrative offices, and records storage.

The Johnson County Courthouse is a contributing property to the Cleburne Downtown Historic District, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
