John Parker (Canadian politician)

John Parker (1906-1978) was a Canadian politician who served as the second Commissioner of the Northwest Territories (NWT) from 1967 to 1979.

Prior to his appointment as Commissioner, Parker had a long and distinguished career in the Canadian civil service, particularly in the administration of the North. He held various positions within the federal government dealing with northern affairs.

As Commissioner, Parker presided over a period of significant change and development in the NWT.
