John Gibbons (pitcher)
John Gibbons (born December 16, 1967, in Billings, Montana) is a former professional baseball pitcher. He played Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Philadelphia Phillies in 1996 and 1997.
Gibbons was drafted by the Montreal Expos in the 18th round of the 1990 MLB draft. Before reaching the major leagues, he played in the Expos and Phillies minor league systems. He primarily pitched as a relief pitcher.
In his brief MLB career, Gibbons appeared in 23 games, all in relief. He compiled a career record of 0-1 with a 6.97 earned run average (ERA). He pitched a total of 20 2/3 innings, allowing 27 hits and 16 earned runs, striking out 10 batters and walking 9.
