Kinjo Dam

Kinjo Dam is a concrete gravity dam located in Nakagusuku Village, Okinawa Prefecture, Japan. The dam was constructed on the Kinjo River for the primary purpose of flood control. It also provides water for irrigation and industrial use in the surrounding areas. Construction of the dam was completed in 1967. The reservoir created by the dam, sometimes referred to as Kinjo Dam Lake, contributes to the local ecosystem and provides recreational opportunities, although these are typically limited due to its main function as a flood control measure. The dam's construction significantly altered the course of the Kinjo River and the landscape of the valley.
