John Foley (executive)

John Foley is an American businessman best known as the co-founder and former CEO of Peloton Interactive, Inc. He served as CEO from 2012 until February 2022, and as Executive Chairman until September 2022.

Prior to Peloton, Foley held various leadership roles in e-commerce and technology companies. He served as CEO of BarnesandNoble.com and held senior management positions at IAC/InterActiveCorp and Mars Inc.

Foley co-founded Peloton in 2012 with the vision of creating a connected fitness experience that would bring studio-style workouts into people's homes. Under his leadership, Peloton grew from a startup to a publicly traded company with millions of subscribers.

During his tenure as CEO, Peloton experienced significant growth but also faced challenges related to product safety, supply chain issues, and shifting consumer demand. In February 2022, Foley stepped down as CEO and was replaced by Barry McCarthy. He remained on the company's board as Executive Chairman until September 2022, when he resigned.
