John Doherty (pitcher)

John Doherty is a former professional baseball pitcher. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for two seasons, 1992 and 1993, with the Detroit Tigers and the Boston Red Sox.

Doherty was drafted by the Detroit Tigers in the 10th round of the 1988 Major League Baseball draft. He made his major league debut on April 11, 1992, for the Tigers. Primarily a relief pitcher, Doherty's career MLB record includes a 3-3 win-loss record in 42 games, with an ERA of 6.42.

Following his MLB career, Doherty continued to play in the minor leagues.
