John Brown (bishop)

John Brown (died 16 December 1688) was a Scottish Episcopalian bishop. He served as the Bishop of Dunkeld from 1685 until his death.

Ordained a minister, Brown served as the minister of Glencairn. He was nominated to the see of Dunkeld on 16 June and consecrated on 28 October 1685. Following the Glorious Revolution of 1688 and the triumph of Presbyterianism in Scotland, Brown was deprived of his see. He died on 16 December of that same year. He was the uncle of John Brown, minister of Wamphray.
