John Boyd (footballer, born 1881)

John Boyd (born in Scotland in 1881, date of death unknown) was a Scottish professional footballer who played as an outside left.

Boyd began his career in junior football before joining Scottish League First Division side St Mirren in 1904. He remained with St Mirren for two seasons, making a number of appearances. In 1906, he moved south to England and joined Southern League club Swindon Town.

His time at Swindon Town was relatively short, and he later moved to another Southern League team, Reading. He played for Reading for a period before returning to Scotland.

Details of his career after leaving Reading are limited, and his date of death is unknown. Further research is required to fully document his career and life.
