John Bew (bookseller)
John Bew (1756-1793) was a prominent English bookseller, publisher, and printer in late 18th-century London. He operated from premises at No. 28, Paternoster Row, a location at the heart of the London bookselling trade. Bew was known for his involvement in publishing political pamphlets and periodicals, often associated with Whig and radical viewpoints. He published works by authors such as Thomas Paine and Joel Barlow. His business was also engaged in the sale of newspapers and other printed materials. After his death in 1793, his business was continued by his widow.
