Joe Costello (politician)
Joe Costello (born April 26, 1945) is a former Irish Labour Party politician. He served as a Teachta Dála (TD) for the Dublin Central constituency from 1989 to 1992, and again from 1997 to 2011.
Costello was a member of Dublin City Council from 1985 to 2014, representing the North Inner City ward. During his time on the council, he held various positions, including Lord Mayor of Dublin from 1993 to 1994.
In Dáil Éireann, Costello served on several committees and was a spokesperson for the Labour Party on different portfolios. He was known for his focus on inner-city issues, community development, and social justice. He lost his Dáil seat in the 2011 general election.
