Jim Rash
Jim Rash (born July 15, 1971) is an American actor, comedian, screenwriter, and director. He is best known for his role as Dean Craig Pelton on the NBC comedy series Community (2009–2015).
Rash received a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series and an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay for co-writing the 2011 film The Descendants alongside Nat Faxon and Alexander Payne.
Prior to Community, Rash had recurring roles on television shows such as That '70s Show, Reno 911!, and Drake & Josh. He has also made numerous guest appearances on various television series.
In addition to acting and writing, Rash has also directed. He co-directed the film The Way, Way Back (2013) with Nat Faxon. They also co-directed the film Downhill (2020).
Rash is a member of the improvisational and sketch comedy group The Groundlings. He is also a graduate of Lawrence Central High School in Indianapolis, Indiana, and a graduate of Vanderbilt University.
