Jiřího z Poděbrad (Prague Metro)

Jiřího z Poděbrad is a Prague Metro station on Line A. It is located in the Vinohrady district of Prague, underneath Jiřího z Poděbrad Square, named after the Czech King George of Poděbrady (Jiří z Poděbrad in Czech).

The station was opened on December 19, 1980, as part of the first section of Line A. It is a deep-level, three-bore station, meaning it has three separate tunnels: one for each track and one central tunnel for the station hall. The station is known for its distinctive aluminum cladding designed by architect Anna Hübschmannová.

The station's entrances are situated directly on Jiřího z Poděbrad Square, providing access to the Church of the Most Sacred Heart of Our Lord and the surrounding residential and commercial areas. Due to its location in a densely populated area, it is a heavily used station.
