John Young (suffragan bishop in London)
John Young (died 1526) was an English clergyman who served as the suffragan Bishop of Calliopolis in the Diocese of London.
Young was Prior of the Hospital of St. Mary without Bishopsgate in London. He was consecrated as a suffragan bishop, taking the title of Bishop of Calliopolis (an ancient see in Thrace), on March 17, 1514, by William Warham, Archbishop of Canterbury, at Lambeth Palace Chapel. He served under Richard FitzJames, Bishop of London.
As suffragan bishop, Young performed various episcopal functions, including confirmations, ordinations, and dedications within the Diocese of London. He appears to have been active in this role for over a decade.
John Young died in 1526.
