Jesse Stone (Georgia politician)
Jesse Stone is an American politician who served as a Republican member of the Georgia State Senate representing District 23. District 23 encompasses Columbia, Glascock, Jefferson, McDuffie, Richmond, Warren and Wilkes counties. He served from 2007 until his death in 2021.
Stone was known for his conservative stances and his work on legislation related to agriculture, healthcare, and education. He was a practicing physician before entering politics. He served as chairman of the Senate Committee on Agriculture and Consumer Affairs.
His unexpected death in March 2021 triggered a special election to fill his vacant seat in the Georgia State Senate.
