Jazz Lab

A Jazz Lab, sometimes referred to as a Jazz Workshop or Jazz Ensemble, is an educational group, typically found within schools, universities, or community music programs, dedicated to the study and performance of jazz music. Its primary purpose is to provide students or participants with practical experience in playing jazz, encompassing various aspects such as improvisation, ensemble playing, jazz theory, and historical context.

Jazz Labs differ from typical concert bands or orchestras by focusing specifically on the jazz idiom.
