Jason Sorens

Jason Sorens is an American political scientist and political activist. He is known for his work on fiscal federalism, state and local politics, and secessionist movements. He is a Senior Research Fellow at the American Institute for Economic Research (AIER) and the former Director of the Center for the Study of Innovative Governance at Saint Anselm College in New Hampshire. Sorens received his Ph.D. in political science from Yale University. He is a proponent of the Free State Project, which encourages individuals to move to New Hampshire to increase support for libertarian ideas. His research interests include state and local public finance, migration, political decentralization, and the effects of government structure on policy outcomes.
