Datshi
Datshi is a stew or curry, a staple food in Bhutanese cuisine. It is typically made with cheese and chilies, though other vegetables are often added, such as potatoes, green beans, spinach, or mushrooms. The cheese used is often a local cheese, similar in texture to cottage cheese or feta, but sometimes processed cheese is used as well. Chilies, both fresh and dried, provide the dish with its characteristic heat. Datshi is considered one of the national dishes of Bhutan and is commonly eaten with red rice. The specific ingredients and methods of preparation can vary from region to region and family to family within Bhutan.
