James Sullivan (Medal of Honor)

James Sullivan was a United States Army soldier who received the Medal of Honor for his actions during the Indian Wars. He served as a Private in Company G of the 8th U.S. Cavalry.

On July 17, 1869, near Red River, Texas, Sullivan distinguished himself by conspicuous gallantry. During a scouting expedition, his detachment was ambushed by a large force of Native American warriors.
