James Ross (Australian politician)

James Ross (1854-1932) was an Australian politician who served as a Member of the Queensland Legislative Assembly. He represented the electoral district of Townsville from 1893 to 1901, and again from 1904 to 1915.

Ross was born in Scotland and emigrated to Australia. Prior to entering politics, he worked as a businessman and was involved in various local community organizations in Townsville.

In parliament, Ross was initially a supporter of the Ministerialists before aligning himself with the Labour Party. He held various committee positions during his tenure.
