Okhansk
Okhansk is a town and the administrative center of Okhansky District in Perm Krai, Russia. It is located on the left bank of the Kama River, near the mouth of the Osha River, approximately 120 kilometers (75 mi) southwest of Perm, the administrative center of the krai.
History:
Okhansk was founded in 1547 as the village of Ostrozhnaya Sloboda. It gained town status in 1781 under its current name, Okhansk, as part of the reforms initiated by Catherine the Great. The name is believed to derive from a local Permic language term possibly related to the Osha River.
