James Davies (politician)

James Davies (born 1980) is a Welsh Conservative Party politician. He has served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Vale of Clwyd since 2019, having previously held the seat from 2017 to 2019.

Davies was educated at the University of Liverpool where he studied medicine, becoming a doctor. Before entering politics, he worked as a GP.

Davies was first elected to Parliament in the 2017 general election, defeating the incumbent Labour MP Chris Ruane. However, he lost his seat to Ruane in the 2019 general election before regaining it later that year in the December election.

As an MP, Davies has been involved in various parliamentary committees and has spoken on a range of issues, often related to health, rural affairs, and the economy of North Wales. He has taken a particular interest in the NHS and has advocated for improvements to healthcare services in his constituency.
