Ivo Ratej

Ivo Ratej (born January 3, 1938, in Ljubljana, Slovenia, died September 1, 2019, in Ljubljana) was a Slovenian ice hockey player and coach.

Ratej was a prominent figure in Slovenian and Yugoslav ice hockey. He played as a defenseman for HK Olimpija Ljubljana for many years, becoming a key member of the team. He represented Yugoslavia in multiple international tournaments, including several World Championships and the 1964 Winter Olympics in Innsbruck and the 1968 Winter Olympics in Grenoble.

Following his playing career, Ratej transitioned into coaching. He coached various teams in Yugoslavia, including HK Olimpija Ljubljana. He also served as a coach for the Yugoslav national ice hockey team. He is remembered for his contributions to the development and promotion of ice hockey in Slovenia.
