Ivan Morozov (ice hockey)

Ivan Morozov (born February 5, 2000) is a Russian professional ice hockey forward currently playing for HC Sochi of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL).

Playing Career

Morozov began his hockey career in Russia, developing through various youth programs. He was drafted 61st overall by the Vegas Golden Knights in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft.

He played several seasons in the KHL, primarily for SKA Saint Petersburg, becoming known for his offensive capabilities, strong skating, and playmaking skills. During his time with SKA, he was a key contributor to the team's success.

In July 2023, Morozov was traded by the Golden Knights to the New York Islanders in exchange for a sixth-round pick in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft. He signed a one-year, entry-level contract with the Islanders on July 17, 2023.

After being waived by the Islanders, Morozov was assigned to their AHL affiliate, the Bridgeport Islanders, for the 2023-24 season. He later terminated his contract with the Islanders organization to return to Russia, signing with HC Sochi.

International Play

Morozov has represented Russia in international competitions at various levels, including the World Junior Championships. He has demonstrated his offensive talent and contributed to the national team's efforts.
