Illimo
Illimo is a city located in the Lambayeque Region of northern Peru. It is the capital of the Illimo District, one of the twelve districts within the Lambayeque Province.
The city is known for its agricultural production, particularly rice and mangoes, benefiting from its location in a fertile valley. Illimo also has a rich cultural heritage, with connections to pre-Columbian civilizations, including the Moche and Lambayeque cultures. Archaeological sites in the surrounding area offer glimpses into this past.
The local economy is largely driven by agriculture, with some commerce and small-scale industries present. Illimo serves as a market center for the surrounding agricultural communities.
While not a major tourist destination, Illimo offers a glimpse into rural Peruvian life and provides access to historical and cultural sites of regional significance.
