Howard White (writer)

Howard White (born 1945) is a Canadian publisher, editor, and writer, primarily known for his work relating to British Columbia's coastal and logging history. He is the founder of Harbour Publishing, a significant independent publishing house based in Madeira Park, British Columbia.

White's writing often reflects his deep connection to the Pacific Northwest environment and its working-class communities. He has authored numerous books, encompassing genres such as memoir, local history, and biography. Key works include Raincoast Chronicles, a series of anthologies documenting the history and culture of the BC coast; Patrick and the Backhoe, a children's book; and several biographies of notable figures in BC's resource industries.
