Hopper (band)

Hopper were an English alternative rock band formed in London in 1991. They were fronted by singer and guitarist Rachel Hockles, and the lineup also included drummer John Ling, guitarist Alex Mitchell, and bassist Andy Nixon. The band was initially known for their loud, abrasive sound, drawing comparisons to bands like Sonic Youth and Dinosaur Jr., but later incorporated more melodic and experimental elements into their music.

Hopper released three studio albums: Hopper (1994), HoneySuckle (1996), and The 3 Wishes (1998). They also released several EPs and singles, including "Wasted" and "Ridiculous Day."

The band gained a following in the UK indie scene and toured extensively, supporting bands such as Hole and Therapy?. However, they never achieved mainstream success and disbanded in the late 1990s.

After the breakup of Hopper, Rachel Hockles pursued a solo career and has released several albums under her own name. The other members have been involved in various other musical projects.

While Hopper did not achieve widespread fame, they are remembered as a significant band in the 1990s alternative rock scene, known for their distinctive sound and Rachel Hockles' powerful vocals.
