Hong Kong Island East (1991 constituency)
The Hong Kong Island East constituency was a two-seat constituency in the Legislative Council of Hong Kong in 1991, elected by First Past the Post system. It was one of the first geographical constituencies created for the 1991 Legislative Council election. The constituency covered the Eastern District on Hong Kong Island. It was abolished in 1995, being replaced by single-seat constituencies. Notable representatives included Emily Lau and Fred Li. The creation of geographical constituencies in 1991 marked a significant step towards increasing direct representation in the Legislative Council.
