Angelique is a Japanese otome game series created by Ruby Party, a brand of Koei Tecmo (formerly Koei). Launched in 1994 with the release of Angelique, it is widely considered the first otome game to target a female audience. The series is characterized by its romantic simulation gameplay, where the player, as the protagonist Angelique, interacts with a cast of male characters, typically guardians or candidates for a specific role.
