Honey G (band)

Honey G was a short-lived English hip hop and R&B band formed in 2016 specifically to support Anna Georgette Gilford (better known as Honey G), following her appearance on the thirteenth series of The X Factor (UK). Gilford had achieved notoriety and a strong following for her performances on the show, despite ultimately finishing in fifth place.

The band consisted of two backing dancers who performed alongside Honey G. Their primary role was to enhance her stage presence during live performances and promotional appearances. They did not contribute vocals or instrumental performances.

Following The X Factor, the band embarked on a brief tour and released a single, "The Honey G Show," in December 2016. The single reached number 149 on the UK Singles Chart.

The band's existence was largely tied to the immediate post-X Factor publicity surrounding Honey G. After the initial wave of attention subsided, the band effectively dissolved, and Honey G continued her career as a solo artist. Their brief tenure is often viewed as a product of reality television's ability to create fleeting celebrity and commercially exploit short-term popularity.
