Badajoz (Senate constituency)
Badajoz is a Senate constituency electing four senators to the Spanish Senate. It is one of the Senate constituencies encompassing a single province, in this case the Province of Badajoz. It was established in the Spanish transition to democracy. Senators are elected using a partial block voting system, where voters cast up to three votes. The four candidates with the most votes are elected. The system tends to favour the larger political parties, with the winning parties typically nominating a slate of candidates for voters to select. Since its creation, the constituency has predominantly elected senators from the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE). The constituency has geographic boundaries mirroring those of the province and covers the entirety of its municipalities and population.
