Charles Cocks (1646–1727)

Charles Cocks (1646–1727) was an English Member of Parliament. Cocks represented Droitwich from 1695 to 1698 and Worcestershire from 1701 to 1713. He was the son of Charles Cocks and Mary Somers. He married Mary Blount, daughter of Sir Walter Blount, Baronet, of Sodington, and had issue including John Cocks, who was created Baron Cocks. He was a landowner and played a significant role in local affairs within Worcestershire. His parliamentary career spanned a period of considerable political change in England, encompassing the reign of William III and the early years of Queen Anne. His family would continue to hold prominent positions in Worcestershire society for generations.
