Stowting

Stowting is a village and civil parish in the Folkestone and Hythe district of Kent, England. It is located approximately 7 miles north of Folkestone and lies within the Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The name "Stowting" is believed to derive from the Old English Stutingas, meaning "the place of the Stut people".

Historically, Stowting was an agricultural community. Its parish church is St Mary's Church, a Grade I listed building with parts dating back to the 12th century.
