Hodgkins (crater)
Hodgkins is a lunar impact crater that lies on the far side of the Moon. It is located to the northeast of the larger crater Von der Pahlen, and southwest of the crater Strömgren.
Hodgkins is a relatively well-formed crater with a sharp, circular rim. The inner walls slope down to a somewhat uneven interior floor that is marked by a few tiny craterlets. There is a slight outward bulge along the northeastern rim. The crater is named after Alan Hodgkin, a British physiologist and biophysicist, and winner of the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine.
Hodgkins is situated within the Strömgren Basin, a large, ancient impact basin.
