Herb Donaldson (American football)
Herb Donaldson (born January 26, 1986) is a former American football running back. He played college football at Western Illinois University, where he was a standout player.
Donaldson was a three-time All-Gateway Football Conference (later Missouri Valley Football Conference) selection. He holds numerous Western Illinois University records, including career rushing yards and career rushing touchdowns. In 2008, he won the Walter Payton Award, given annually to the most outstanding offensive player in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS).
After college, Donaldson signed as an undrafted free agent with the New York Jets in 2009. He was later released. He subsequently played in the Canadian Football League (CFL) for the Montreal Alouettes and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. His professional career was relatively short-lived, but he is remembered as one of the greatest players in Western Illinois University football history.
