Henry Owens (left-handed pitcher)

Henry Owens is a former professional baseball pitcher. He is a left-handed pitcher. Owens was born on June 13, 1992.

Owens was drafted by the Boston Red Sox in the first round (36th overall) of the 2011 Major League Baseball draft. He played in the Red Sox organization from 2011-2017. He was considered a top prospect during his time in the minor leagues, reaching as high as #47 on Baseball America's Top 100 Prospects list prior to the 2015 season.

Owens made his Major League debut with the Boston Red Sox on August 12, 2015. He pitched in 11 games (8 starts) for the Red Sox in 2015, posting a 4-4 record with a 4.57 ERA. In 2016 he pitched in 5 games for the Red Sox, going 0-1 with a 7.71 ERA.

In 2017, Owens was traded to the Arizona Diamondbacks organization. He did not pitch in the major leagues after 2016. He has since been retired from professional baseball.

His repertoire included a fastball, curveball, and changeup. He was known for his deceptive delivery and ability to generate swings and misses.
