Halifax (band)
Halifax was an American pop punk band from Thousand Oaks, California, formed in 2003. The band consisted of Matt Fazzi (vocals/guitar), his brother Curt Fazzi (guitar/vocals), Mike "Squig" Furnari (bass/vocals), and Tom Gieron (drums).
Halifax gained popularity through extensive touring, initially playing local shows and eventually touring nationally with bands like Saves the Day, Yellowcard, and Cartel. They were known for their energetic live performances and catchy, melodic songs.
The band signed with Drive-Thru Records in 2005 and released their debut EP, A Writer's Reference, that same year. In 2006, they released their full-length album, The Inevitability of a Strange World.
Following the release of their debut album, Halifax experienced internal struggles and changes in musical direction. Matt Fazzi later joined Taking Back Sunday as a guitarist from 2008 to 2010. The band eventually disbanded, though reunion shows have occasionally been discussed.
