Michael Peterson (singer)
Michael Peterson (born August 7, 1959, in Duncan, Oklahoma, died October 12, 2020, near Nashville, Tennessee) was an American country music singer. He is best known for his 1997 hit single "From Here to Eternity," which reached number one on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart.
Peterson began playing music professionally in the 1980s, performing in local bars and clubs. He signed with Warner Bros. Records in 1996 and released his debut album, Michael Peterson, that same year. The album was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
In addition to "From Here to Eternity," Peterson had several other successful singles, including "Drink, Swear, Steal & Lie," "Little Boy Lost," and "Too Good to Be True." He released a total of seven studio albums.
Peterson's music often explored themes of love, loss, and small-town life. He was known for his smooth vocals and heartfelt lyrics.
Peterson died in a boating accident on Old Hickory Lake near Nashville, Tennessee in 2020.
