HMS Upshot (P82)
HMS Upshot (P82) was a patrol boat of the British Royal Navy. She was a Ford-class patrol boat, designed for fishery protection duties in the United Kingdom's waters. The Ford class was a class of eight patrol boats built by Hall, Russell & Company in Aberdeen. HMS Upshot entered service in 1958 and served until she was sold for scrap in 1986.
The primary role of HMS Upshot and her sister ships was to enforce fisheries protection laws, ensuring that foreign fishing vessels were operating within permitted areas and adhering to quotas. They also provided assistance to fishing vessels in distress.
Upshot displaced approximately 150 tons and was armed with a single Bofors 40mm gun. She had a complement of around 16 officers and ratings. Her hull was constructed of wood.
