Guy of Ibelin (died 1304)
Guy of Ibelin (died 1304) was a prominent member of the influential Ibelin family, a noble house with significant power and landholdings in the Crusader states of the Levant, particularly in the Kingdom of Cyprus and the Kingdom of Jerusalem. He held the title of Marshal of Cyprus.
Guy was a son of Baldwin of Ibelin, Seneschal of Cyprus, and Margaret of Giblet (Gibelet). He married Maria of Armenia, daughter of King Hethum II of Armenia and Isabella of Armenia. Their marriage produced at least one child, Alice of Ibelin, who married King Hugh IV of Cyprus and became Queen of Cyprus.
As Marshal of Cyprus, Guy held a high-ranking military position, responsible for maintaining order and defending the kingdom. The Ibelin family played a crucial role in the politics and governance of Cyprus during this period, and Guy's position further cemented their influence. His marriage into the Armenian royal family also strengthened the Ibelin family's ties to the wider region. Guy died in 1304.
