Platanias refers to several locations in Greece, most notably:

• Platanias, Chania: A coastal village and municipality located west of Chania city on the island of Crete. It's a popular tourist destination known for its beaches, tavernas, and nightlife. Historically, it was the site of significant resistance during the Battle of Crete in World War II. The area features both a bustling tourist center along the coast and quieter, more traditional villages inland.

• Platanias, Larissa: A village in the regional unit of Larissa, Thessaly. This Platanias is situated in a more mountainous region and offers a different, less tourist-oriented experience compared to its Cretan counterpart.
