Guignes

Guignes is the name of a commune in the Seine-et-Marne department in the Île-de-France region in north-central France. It is located approximately 40 kilometers east of Paris. Guignes is situated in the Brie region and is part of the Communauté de communes Val Briard. Its inhabitants are known as Guignois(es). The commune's economy is primarily agricultural, although residential development has increased in recent years due to its proximity to Paris. The area has a rich history, with evidence of human settlement dating back to the Gallo-Roman period. Landmarks include the church of Saint-Georges.
