Greg Sacks
Greg Sacks (born November 1, 1952) is an American former professional stock car racing driver. He competed primarily in the NASCAR Winston Cup Series (now NASCAR Cup Series) from 1976 to 2003.
Sacks is perhaps best known for winning the 1985 Firecracker 400 at Daytona International Speedway driving for DiGard Motorsports. This victory came in a car that Sacks designed and built himself, a feat virtually unheard of at that level of racing.
Throughout his career, Sacks was recognized as a skilled test driver and engineer, often contributing to the development of race cars and racing technology. He drove for a variety of teams, including those owned by notable figures such as Junior Johnson and Rick Hendrick. While he didn't achieve widespread success in terms of wins, Sacks was a consistent competitor and contributed significantly to the sport through his technical expertise.
After his driving career ended, Sacks remained involved in racing, occasionally offering his insights and expertise to teams and media outlets.
