Gimme a Break (game show)
Gimme a Break was an Australian television game show that aired on the Nine Network from 1990 to 1991. It was hosted by former footballer Billy Brownless.
The premise of the show involved contestants answering general knowledge questions for the chance to win prizes, including a grand prize of a car. A key element of the show involved a physical challenge, usually involving some sort of obstacle course or stunt, which contestants had to complete to be eligible for certain prizes or to advance further in the game. This physical element distinguished Gimme a Break from more traditional quiz-based game shows.
The show was known for its lighthearted tone and its focus on family-friendly entertainment. While it enjoyed a moderate level of popularity, it was ultimately cancelled after a relatively short run.
