Clay Smith (footballer)
Clay Smith is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Brisbane Lions in the Australian Football League (AFL). He was drafted by the Lions with pick 21 in the 2011 AFL Draft.
Smith was a midfielder known for his contested ball winning ability and tackling pressure. He made his AFL debut in Round 1, 2012, against Melbourne.
Smith's career was unfortunately hampered by a series of knee injuries. He underwent multiple knee reconstructions which significantly impacted his ability to play consistent football.
