Wanderlust (Gavin Rossdale album)
Wanderlust is the debut solo album by English musician Gavin Rossdale, released on June 17, 2008, by Interscope Records. Rossdale, best known as the lead singer and guitarist for the band Bush, embarked on this solo project following Bush's disbandment in 2002.
The album's title reflects Rossdale's personal journey and exploration during this period. "Wanderlust" features a mix of alternative rock, pop, and electronica elements. The first single, "Love Remains the Same," was a commercial success, reaching number 2 on the Billboard Hot Adult Top 40 Tracks chart. Other notable tracks include "Can't Stop the World," and "Frontline."
The album received mixed reviews upon its release. Some critics praised Rossdale's songwriting and vocal performance, while others felt the album lacked the raw energy of his previous work with Bush. Despite the mixed critical reception, Wanderlust debuted at number 32 on the Billboard 200 chart.
The album's release was followed by a supporting tour, where Rossdale performed both his solo material and select Bush songs. Wanderlust represents a significant chapter in Rossdale's musical career, showcasing his versatility as a songwriter and performer outside of the context of his established band.
