Bentracimab

Bentracimab is a human monoclonal antibody fragment (Fab) being developed as a reversal agent for ticagrelor, a P2Y12 platelet inhibitor. It is designed to bind to ticagrelor and its active metabolites with high affinity, preventing them from binding to the P2Y12 receptor on platelets, thereby restoring platelet function. Bentracimab offers a potential therapeutic option in cases where rapid reversal of ticagrelor's antiplatelet effects is necessary, such as in patients requiring urgent surgery or experiencing life-threatening bleeding. It is currently undergoing clinical trials to evaluate its safety and efficacy.
