Venantius (consul 507)
Venantius, a Roman aristocrat, held the office of consul in the year 507 AD. His full name is sometimes given as Flavius Venantius. He served as consul alongside Flavius Theodorus. His consulship occurred during a period of considerable political upheaval in Italy and the wider Western Roman world, particularly under the rule of the Ostrogothic king Theoderic the Great. Little is known about his life and career beyond his holding the consular office. His consulship provides a valuable marker in the chronology of the 6th century.
