Gilette

Gillette is a brand of safety razors and other personal care products, including shaving supplies, owned by Procter & Gamble (P&G). The brand is best known for its razors, but also manufactures shaving gels, foams, and aftershave lotions. Historically, Gillette was an independent company founded by King Camp Gillette in 1901. The Gillette Safety Razor Company revolutionized shaving by introducing a system of disposable blades, making shaving safer and more convenient. Over the decades, Gillette introduced numerous innovations in razor technology, including multiple-blade cartridges, pivoting heads, and lubrication strips. These innovations often came with corresponding marketing campaigns that promoted a clean-shaven ideal of masculinity. The company was acquired by P&G in 2005, becoming a core component of P&G's grooming division. Despite its long history and established market position, Gillette has faced increasing competition from other brands and the rise of subscription-based shaving services. It has also navigated evolving social attitudes towards shaving and personal grooming.
